Children, Teens & Families
Supporting children and teenagers through friendship struggles, anxiety, and family change, and helping families navigate it all together.
Young people today face pressures that many adults don't fully understand. From academic stress and social media anxiety to friendship difficulties and family changes, childhood and adolescence can feel like navigating a maze without a map.
Before training as a counsellor, I spent almost 15 years as a primary school teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator). This background gives me a unique insight into the challenges children face within the education system and a deep understanding of the pressures that can shape a child's wellbeing and sense of self.

Learn moreI work with children and teenagers experiencing a range of challenges including low self-esteem, worries about school or friendships, behavioural difficulties, and emotional regulation struggles. Parents often notice their child withdrawing, becoming more irritable, or struggling to communicate what they're feeling. Counselling provides a safe outlet where young people can express themselves freely.
For teenagers especially, having a confidential space outside of family and school can be invaluable. They're developing their identity, dealing with hormones, facing exam pressures, and trying to figure out who they are. I help them build emotional resilience and develop healthy coping mechanisms that will serve them well into adulthood.
Family dynamics, attachment difficulties, and adverse childhood events can all affect how a child experiences the world. I offer support to help families understand what's happening, improve communication, and rebuild connection where it's been strained.
